VW set to monitor Wiegand’s IRC exploits

Sepp Wiegand will be kept under a watchful eye when he contests 10 rounds of this season’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge. Maxrally understands the 21-year-old, who will drive a Skoda Fabia S2000 backed by the car make’s German importer, is being monitored throughout the season as part of Volkswagen Motorsport’s bid to find a young German star for its World Rally Championship campaign from 2013.

Both Wiegand and Abring is talented drivers.
But after my 40 years as co-driver in around 600 rallies.I would put my money on Ogier and Mikkelsen.
Hanninen should also have a go.
The perfect solution fir VW is to run a B-team with Hanninen and Wiegand/Abring.
