RALLY GUANAJUATO MEXICO
Post event Press Conference
Sunday 11 March

Present:
1st - Sébastien Loeb, Citroën Total World Rally Team
1st - Daniel Elena, Citroën Total World Rally Team
2nd - Mikko Hirvonen, Citroën Total World Rally Team
2nd - Jarmo Lehtinen, Citroën Total World Rally Team
3rd - Petter Solberg, Ford World Rally Team
3rd - Chris Patterson, Ford World Rally Team
Yves Matton, Team Principal, Citroën Total World Rally Team

Q:
Sébastien, congratulations on your sixth consecutive win here at Rally Mexico, second win so far this season. It's going well for the Drivers’ Championship defence so far!
SL:
I am very happy. I feel it was a long weekend. I can say there were a lot of long stages. It was a lot of pressure and a big battle especially with Mikko. Finally, we are here for the sixth time. They are nice shoes - it is a great moment!

Q:
The route changed a little this year, what did you think of the new format?
SL:
For sure, the long one today was okay. We did not have to push hard, we just had to try and stay focused. Yesterday, the 42 kilometre stage was more demanding. It was very hard and long and twisty. It was hot in the car and we had to push at this moment. It was okay. I was confident. We had no problems at all. That has been the key of the success of the team.

Q:
Which driver’s pace concerned you most this weekend?
SL:
The Fords improved a lot in Mexico. We did not work a lot with the altitude – maybe we were too much confident in Mexico. Maybe we saw their improvement and we had to fight very hard. It was important to finish first and second.

Q:
Congratulations Daniel, another win in Mexico - how have you found the event this year?
DE:
It’s nice, but when you know the stage surface it is better. It is very fast now – there is one stage – eight kilometres of cobblestones now. It’s okay. The two new stages, Mexicanos and Minas, were difficult and technical. Ortega was nice but not with the problems with some persons. I don’t know where they were but it was dangerous for the crews.

Q:
Mikko, your first gravel event in the Citroën DS3, how was it?
MH:
It was very good. I am happy with the result from here. I was quite happy with the pace on Friday and early Saturday. The more I tried to push the worse my times were getting. I had a good lesson this week. Maybe I was too aggressive some times. I need to be smoother more often, but it was important to get a one and two finish.

Q:
How much were you pushing on Saturday morning to try to catch your team-mate? When did you realise that a win here was not possible?
MH:
Seb gave me a little bit of a lesson, that is all. I need to be more consistent.

Q:
You were fastest through the longest stage of the day, 36 minutes of talking through pace notes! How tough was that?
JL:
Fifty-three pages of notes today on the long stage! [Daniel Elena commented 51 pages and Chris Patterson 96]. The stage was really nice, so fast, nice and flowing. In normal conditions it would have been tough, but the positions were decided and it was a case of avoiding mistakes. When we heard about the problem of Jari-Matti [Latvala] rolling, then we were more careful. I thought the stage was never going to end until I reached the 53rd page!

Q:
Petter, we were expecting to see your team-mate Jari-Matti here this afternoon, but a roll on the Guanajuatito stage means that you are elevated to third - great to see you on the podium though…
PS:
I am very sad for Jari. He was on a big mission and then he rolled. It is s**t for the team but, from my own point of view, it was a good rally. We have a very fast car, it was very good and we won the Power Stage and took three points. That was fantastic – I even lost two seconds in there at least [Loeb commented he had not been pushing!]. I had the bad luck on Friday. I need to back off a bit.

Q:
Tell us about the event for you, it seemed to have got off to a great start on the Thursday evening but then tyre damage spoiled the party on Friday?
PS:
It was a flat sixth gear corner. That is perfect for most of the corners. But I just touched a bank and the tyre came off the rim. There was no hard impact. The second stage, I was thinking flat out and we hit a bank and the tyre came off the rim again and then, in the afternoon, we hit a rock and the tyre was off again. Yesterday, we had a nail through the tyre. Mikko is putting them into my tyres [joking]. I just think the car is good enough to win the rally next time. Maybe I will not push too early and will wait a little.

Q:
What was your feeling with the Fiesta RS WRC on gravel?
PS:
If you compare with many other rallies, we did a great improvement with the car. It felt very fast.

Q:
Chris, from a co-driver’s point of view, what is the biggest challenge of this event? How many pages of notes did you have for the longest stage today?
CP:
Ninety-six pages! I just keep reading them to the finish and hope I get there before Petter! It was a good challenge and, from a personal point of view, it was very satisfying.

Q:
And how have you found the event overall?
CP:
It was very good for us. We had our problems but it is a difficult rally every year – what with the temperatures and the traffic. It’s a case of just keeping on going to get to the end. You breathe relief at the last control and say ‘thank god’ for that. We will carry on. Petter never gives up and we were not going to give up today.

Q:
Yves, maximum points for the Citroën Total World Rally Team here in Mexico. It seems to have been a faultless rally for you. You must be pleased?
YM:
There are no secrets. The car was working perfectly and drivers also make no mistakes. There were no punctures and they stay in the middle of the road. That is the most important to win the rally.

Q:
Was there a point where you asked the drivers just to hold position and not fight?
YM:
On Saturday, after two stages, we decided it was important to stay with two cars in one-two positions and we knew it was impossible for Jari-Matti to come back. I asked them to stop the fight and look behind them.

Q:
Thierry Neuville picked up his first WRC stage win today, have you been impressed with the pace he has shown here?
YM:
It’s difficult to see in the results, but he made a perfect rally. He was very fast in the first stage. After he was unlucky to take a stone and it was impossible to avoid. If you look at his road positions, his times were impressive.

QUESTIONS FROM THE FLOOR

Keiko Ito
Rally-X Mobile, Japan

Q:
Can I ask the top three drivers to send a message to the rally fans in Japan on the first anniversary of the earthquake?
SL:
Sure, we all know what happened since the last time we were in Japan. For sure, it was a terrible moment for everybody. It has always been a pleasure to go there and to drive there. The atmosphere is fantastic. They are different people and get very excited about what we are doing. Good luck to them and we hope to come back soon.
MH:
Japan has had a tough time since the last time we were there. The people were so happy and enjoying life. It is important to keep on doing that and to be positive, to smile and to enjoy life.
PS:
They will be fine with a good positive mind and to work as a team, the same as a rally team. Then, they can be back to the top again. I know they have lost a lot of people. If they are positive, they can be back on top again.

FIA PRODUCTION CAR WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

Present:
1st - Benito Guerra
1st - Borja Rozada

Q:
Benito, congratulations on your first PWRC win! What is it like to win at home?
BG:
I am really happy right now. To win this event is amazing for us and for all the Mexican people, and my sponsors. I am really happy for my first victory in PWRC - a first of a lot of them! I have to work a lot in Mexico. The car was perfect.

Q:
You told us at the pre-event press conference that you had done a lot of preparation for this event - it has obviously paid off!
BG:
All those hours and those early mornings in Sport City were amazing. I am ready to race another rally - right now. Thanks to all the trainers for their support.

Q:
You led for the majority of the event but Michal Kosciuszko was never far behind during day one and the morning of day two. Did you feel under pressure?
BG:
Of course, we had a good run on Friday morning and we attacked. But Saturday was really hard. We were fighting for 71 kilometres on Saturday morning and it was really close. He is a really good driver and it’s not easy to keep him behind. I know I have to fight with him all year.

Q:
Did you have any dramas of your own out there? Were there any big moments?
BG:
We had issues and small brake problems on day two. Today, the brakes were new and we did not use them too much in the beginning as they were overheating. On the super special we made no mistakes. We had to clean out [bed in] the brakes for the long stage of 54 kilometres. It was hard and tough for this. I started the stage knowing how long it was but then, in the middle of the stage, I said to myself, let me calm down and take a breath.

Q:
Do you feel this is the best possible start for your PWRC campaign?
BG:
I have started on national rallies in Spain and Mexico before with a win. I have to work so hard to get my win. I know Mexico was an easy event because I was at home. But a lot of the new stages we did not know them.

Q:
Borja, congratulations on your win - how does it feel?
BR:
I feel the rally went well. It is good for Benito, he has been working so hard. I am happy for the fans and the team. We started by leading and trying to push and we finished with a great result.

Q:
Were there any nerves in the car today knowing that all you had to do was finish the day safely to take your first win?
BR:
Maybe not nerves but we had to keep in mind that we have to finish. It was great at the finish. It was an amazing feeling to take the first win in PWRC. I am so happy for that.
• Hirvonen confirms 1-2 finish for Citroën Total World Rally Team
• Solberg snatches podium for Ford; Latvala rolls and is forced out
• Benito Guerra clinches PWRC win; 10th-placed Trivino top local driver

LEÓN (Mexico): The French duo of Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena confirmed their sixth victory in Rally Guanajuato Mexico and extended their lead in the FIA World Rally Championship after the final four special stages, near Leon, on Sunday.

Leading by 36.2s overnight, the eight-time World Champions mastered their tactics to perfection over the final day and Loeb avoided trouble and took no risks on his way to a 42.4s victory over Citroën Total World Rally Team colleagues, Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen.

I am very happy,” said Loeb. “I always win here! It is a great result for the team as well, with Mikko finishing second, a one-two for us.” Hirvonen was also delighted: “I am quite happy with the result. It is my first time with this car on gravel and I was able to stay on a good pace with Sébastien all the way.”

Finland’s Jari-Matti Latvala looked comfortable in third position in the leading Ford Fiesta RS WRC until he was distracted by Evgeny Novikov’s stricken Ford in the daunting Guanjuatito stage. The Finn took avoiding action, thinking that the Ford was in the stage, but the Russian had actually left the road himself and Latvala crashed heavily with the loss of over seven minutes. After an FIA inspection of the damaged Fiesta, the devastated Finn was not able to continue.

Norwegian Petter Solberg and his Ulster co-driver Chris Patterson – leaders of the event after the opening stage – were promoted to the final podium position and managed to take the three bonus points for winning the final Power Stage. “I am delighted with the position but I am still disappointed that I had the four punctures and the brake problem,” said Solberg.

Norwegian Mads Ostberg punctured on SS22 and completed the stage on the rim, but managed to finish in a fine fourth overall and Estonia’s Ott Tänak was fifth. Qatar’s Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah, partnered by the Italian co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini, was delighted to confirm sixth overall on an event where he won his first ever WRC special stage.

Portugal’s Armindo Araújo confirmed seventh in his Mini JCW WRC. “I started the rally with the electronic problem and then we improved from the first day,” said Armindo. “I am pleased with the Mini. It is the best result of my career in Mexico.”

Sébastien Ogier enjoyed his run in the Skoda Fabia S2000, entered by Volkswagen Motorsport, and finished in eighth overall. Ken Block confirmed ninth in the Monster Ford Fiesta. “A nice event, but I did not enjoy sweeping the roads,” said the American. “I think the new qualifying system kind of screws the privateers, but I learned some new stuff with the car.”

Benito Guerra confirmed victory in the PWRC category with a fine 11th overall, but was beaten to the rank of being the highest-placed Mexican finisher by 10th-placed Ricardo Trivino.

	Sunday – as it happened

Loeb began the final day’s four special stages with a 36.2s overall lead, but it was Belgian driver Thierry Neuville who opened the day’s proceedings through the 4.42km super special stage in his Citroën Junior World Rally Team DS3. He lined up alongside Australia’s Chris Atkinson for the benefit of the four laps of the Autodromo spectator stage.

Preserving the tyres was an important factor, with three punishing gravel stages to follow, and Neuville set the fastest time of 3m 12.5s to record his first ever WRC stage win. Block stalled on the start line and Loeb beat Hirvonen to extend his overall lead to 36.5s. “It was the biggest honour in my career to be on the stage against Sébastien (Loeb) and the best team in the world,” enthused Brazilian driver Paulo Nobre.

The mammoth 54.3km Guanajuatito special was next on the agenda, although Hirvonen had openly admitted that the fast, flowing nature of the longest timed test of the entire event would make it less of a challenge than the Ibarilla and Otates stages everyone had tackled on Saturday.

Hirvonen may have been confident, but the stage provided the drama of the rally: Atkinson pulled out with a broken damper 20km into the special, Novikov left the road and retired from 11th place and Al-Attiyah set the early target time of 36m 51.1s.

Solberg managed to beat the Qatari, but Hirvonen pipped Loeb by 0.7s to set the fastest time. Østberg punctured and finished the stage on the rim, but Latvala’s determined charge to try and pressurise the leading duo came to an end when he rolled his Ford Fiesta and lost over seven minutes. He dropped to seventh overall.

“I saw from far away Novikov’s car and I was very confused,” said the Finn. “I first thought the car was on the road and I made a movement to avoid it and my car went off, away, and rolled. It took a lot to get it back on the road. I think I can continue but I lost a lot of points.”

Unfortunately for the Finn, an FIA technical official would not let the Finn start the penultimate Derramadero stage, because of damage to the roll cage, and Latvala’s misery was complete. Loeb pipped Solberg to the fastest time and headed into the Power Stage with a 41-second lead over Hirvonen.

But Ford had something to smile about after the Power Stage; Solberg managed to set the fastest time and pick up the three bonus points, with Loeb taking two points for second and Østberg collecting a bonus point for third. Guerra confirmed the PWRC victory, although was beaten to being the top Mexican finisher by Ricardo Trivino.

	Present:
Yves Matton– Citroën Total World Rally Team manager
Malcolm Wilson – Ford World Rally Team director
Sven Smeets – Volkswagen Motorsport

Sébastien Loeb – Citroën Total World Rally Team, 1st o/a
Mikko Hirvonen – Citroën Total World Rally Team, 2nd o/a
Jari-Matti Latvala – Ford World Rally Team, 3rd o/a

	Q:
Yves, another strong day for you with a 1-2. Sébastien has a nice lead now. But it is still a difficult day tomorrow. How confident are you feeling?

	YM:
For sure, tomorrow we have a 54km stage but, with the gap we have now, we need to be careful and avoid any problems.

	Q:
Would you say the drivers have now gone into safety mode?

	YM:
Yes, we did it also this afternoon. After the first stages we saw that it was difficult for Jari-Matti to come back and we asked them to slow down. Tomorrow, we also have to consider the Power Stage. We hope to take maximum points on this.

	Q:
Yves Matton seems quite confident that he will take maximum points in the rally and the Power Stage, Malcolm. What do you feel about that?

	MW:
Umm. I think it will be difficult for the rally that is for sure. I’m not so sure about the Power Stage. We are not going to let him have everything this weekend.

	Q:
We saw Jari-Matti on a good charge yesterday afternoon and this morning. What happened out there?

	MW:
He set off this morning and the intention was to apply some pressure. He was doing that, but just cut a little too close and there was a rock edge and it clipped the inside of the rim, broke the wheel and deflated the tyre. Ott Tänak had exactly the same thing. I think anything can happen on this rally. Remember, we were third and fourth going into the final day in 2003 or 2004, I think, and ended up finishing first and second, so both guys need to drive quite quickly.

	Q:
Sven, talk us through the day today for Sébastien Ogier and Kevin Abbring?

	SS:
Well, this morning, both drivers felt quite confident even though the S2000s were penalised with these heights (altitude). They were really enjoying it, but Kevin had to retire with an engine failure and will not restart tomorrow. Sébastien is ninth overall at the moment and has two points and we hope he has a good day tomorrow.

	Q:
You mentioned next year. We are all very excited about the Polo. What can you tell us about the development of the car so far?

	SS:
Not much…we have done the first couple of tests. Let’s say we are happy with the results, but there is still a long way to go before we can compete with these guys on my left.

	Q:
We already see a big Volkswagen presence at the rally. It is good to see the signs everywhere?

	SS:
You could say that Mexico is part of the Volkswagen culture. We built the Beetle here until, I think, 2002 and we have a factory here. We are already very happy to be a part of the WRC.

	Q:
Sébastien, you have a 36-second lead over Mikko Hirvonen. It’s been another great day for you?

	SL:
Talk to me about this morning. How much pressure were you feeling?

	SL:
I knew that I did not do a good stage. I had a good start until the middle of the stage. Everything was perfect, but then I see I lose some time. Some time you start to brake a bit early and lose the feeling. The second stage was different and I pushed hard and it was much better.

	Q:
Mikko, you said last night that you would put pressure on your team-mate. You did that on the first stage and then a gap started to appear. Where did it go wrong?

	MH:
It did not feel so wrong. There were some sections where I struggled, where I was very aggressive in the Fiesta last year. Then I realised that when I backed up the time was better. It has not been a bad day, just not the best rhythm. Sébastien got away and Jari-Matti had his problem and so it was a lot better to slow down a little bit to avoid trouble.

	Q:
We have a 54km stage tomorrow. Is that more difficult than the ones today?

	MH:
No, I think it is the other way around. I think today’s stages were more difficult. It is a longer stage but it is a little bit wider, faster and more flowing.

	Q:
Jari-Matti yesterday you were flying and again this morning. But then you got a puncture. What happened?

	JM-L:
In this rally, for us, the speed has been okay. I really enjoy the drive, the car, everything is there. Rocks are causing the problems. When I was pushing hard this morning, I was cutting the corners and there were rocks. I hit the rocks and I got the puncture. It was fully my mistake and that is where I lost the time.

	Q:
Yves Matton says that his team wants maximum points and the win on the Power Stage. How will you push to try and win the Power Stage?

	JM-L:
Of course I am going to push for that. I need to try to get some points. At the beginning of the rally we could have been fighting for the victory. If I can get some extra points back that would be great.

	Q:
Sébastien, what are your thoughts on Mexico? You have great support here. What do you say to the fans out there?

	SL:
It is incredible for us to come here every year. The first time we came there was nearly nobody here. It grows every year. I feel that it may even be the most beautiful of the season. There is a great atmosphere here and I say thank you to all the fans (big cheers from the crowd).

·• Hirvonen maintains second; Latvala displaces Østberg to take third
• Brake problems sideline Atkinson; Nobre crashes; engine woes for Abbring
• Mexican Benito Guerra maintains advantage in PWRC; Novikov loses a wheel

LEÓN (Mexico): The French duo of Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena extended their overall lead in
Rally Guanajuato Mexico 2012 to 36.2 seconds after a further eight mixed surface special stages on Saturday.

The eight-time World Champions are chasing a sixth successive WRC win in Mexico and began the day with an 11.2-second advantage over Citroën World Rally Team colleagues, Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen.

The wily Loeb mastered his tactics to perfection over the challenging special stages, often held at altitude around Guanajuato and León, to gradually tighten his vice-like grip on the event. Hirvonen had no answer to the champion’s strategy, but maintained a comfortable second overall nonetheless

“There was no chance today to take it easy,” said Loeb. “The Fords were pushing hard and I knew Mikko would be going fast as well. There were places with rocks in the track and I had to be careful. I managed to build up a good lead. It was a good day, but tomorrow we have a long stage. But I am in a good position.”

Predictably, the Ford duo of Jari-Marti Latvala and Petter Solberg mounted a brave and determined challenge and maintained the pressure on the leading duo throughout the morning. But a puncture and a shredded tyre ruined Latvala’s charge in SS15 and his priority duly changed to trying to preserve third overall. After disposing of Mads Østberg during the morning, the Finn briefly ceded third to Solberg, before speeding up over the closing stages to consolidate the final podium position.

Norwegian Mads Ostberg was realistic about his chances of catching the factory Fords and was content to hold a solid fifth. A flat tyre nearly dropped Estonian Ott Tänak into Evgeny Novikov’s clutches after the 15th stage, but Tänak responded in an impressive manner to confirm sixth at the end of the day.

Qatar’s Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah, who had become the first Arab driver ever to win a WRC special stage on Friday evening, held eighth after being embroiled in his own battle with Aussie Chris Atkinson, before the latter’s retirement with brake woes. The Qatari inherited seventh on the final stage of the day when Novikov wrenched a wheel off his Ford.

Portugal’s Armindo Araújo was better pleased with his Mini’s set-up over Saturday’s stages and finished the day in eighth. Sébastien Ogier struggled to match the more powerful WRC cars in his Skoda Fabia S2000 and held ninth, Ken Block climbed to 10th in the Monster Ford Fiesta and Benito Guerra strengthened his grip on the PWRC category.

	Saturday – as it happened

Latvala posted his intent from the outset and set a stunning time through the 29.90km Ibarilla stage, the Finn beating Hirvonen by 5.3s and, in so doing, he snatched third overall from Østberg. Hirvonen managed to reduce Loeb’s overall lead to 8.7s. Guerra was suffering from tyre wear and kept his PWRC lead, but lost 12th place to a resurgent Ken Block. Brazilian Paulo Nobre left the road again and retired.

A clean run and the lack of tyre issues was critical in the 41.88km Otates special stage – the 14th and longest stage of the event so far – and Loeb set the fastest time to extend his advantage over Hirvonen to 18.2s. Latvala earned the second fastest time to reduce his former team-mate’s hold on second place to 67.4s, but the top 10 held station on the return to León for service.

“I am probably going a little too much sideways,” admitted Latvala. “We have a different set-up this year for Mexico. It is normally set for the faster roads and we did not expect so much twisty. I cannot catch the top two with the difference. I just need to keep the pressure on.”

But keeping the pressure on came with its own risks and Latvala clouted a rock four kilometres into the re-run of the Ibarilla stage and collected a puncture. He was forced to complete the stage on the shredding front tyre and the lost time pushed him three seconds behind Solberg - into fourth overall - and enabled Ostberg to close to within 1.8s of fourth overall.

Loeb was his usual calm and determined self and another fastest time stretched his lead over Hirvonen to 21.7s. Tänak also punctured on the tricky stage and reached the finish still in sixth overall, but a mere 4.2s in front of Novikov’s similar Ford Fiesta.

Guerra strengthened his grip on the PWRC category when series leader Michal Kosciuszko was delayed on the road section to the 15th stage and ultimately retired soon afterwards after removing a wheel. Engine oil pressure problems had already accounted for Škoda’s Kevin Abbring.

A resurgent Latvala was quickest through the second Otates stage and regained third position from Solberg. Loeb admitted that he had taken it easy over the last few kilometres to avoid damaging the car and his tyres on some larger rocks in the track, but he still managed to extend his overall lead over Hirvonen to 28.7s.

Atkinson crossed the flying finish line and was given a stage time, but he clouted a banking, spun across the track, reversed and was forced to park his damaged Ford at the side of the stage after brake issues. He had been beaten on the special by Al-Attiyah in any case and the Qatari duly climbed to eighth position. In the other close battle within the top 10, Tänak extended his hold on sixth over Novikov to 5.8s.

Loeb erred on the side of caution through the 17.91km of the first Comanjilla stage and admitted that other cars had been flicking a few stones into the track, which could have caused problems. Latvala duly set the fastest time and beat Hirvonen by over 12 seconds into the bargain, but the Citroën duo remained well clear in first and second overall.

Two runs through the 2.21km super special stage were merged, rather than run them both as individual entities, and Loeb and Solberg set the equal fastest time of 3m 14.3s. There were no major dramas for the leaders and Loeb headed to the last stage of the day – the rerun of the Comanjilla stage – with an overall lead of 36.5s.

Novikov took a wheel off his Ford Fiesta and was unable to go any further. His demise promoted Al-Attiyah to seventh, Araújo to eighth, Ogier to ninth and Ken Block into the unofficial top 10. Latvala set the quickest time, but the day belonged to Loeb – the Frenchman had a lead of 36.2 seconds to take into the final day.

	Tomorrow

Sunday’s third and final leg of Rally Guanajuato Mexico provides a true sting in the tail. There are only four stages on the agenda, but they include the daunting 54.30km of the Guanajuatito special (10.33hrs) after an opening encounter with the 4.42km of the super special stage (09.30hrs), near León.

The long stage precedes the 10.58km of Derramadero at 12.06hrs and the final run through the 5.46km VW Power Stage at 13.18hrs. The finish podium is scheduled for 15.00hrs in León.

“This run was ideal. Some places we checked the pace notes, but the car is working very well. I think it was a good time.”

	Car 8. NEUVILLE/GILSOUL
“A lot of loose gravel again. I enjoyed this stage. There were a lot of little stones. It was a really nice stage.”

	Car 10. ǾSTBERG/ANDERSSON
“This stage was really nice. Now we have to focus on the position we have at the moment. We don’t have the speed to fight with Petter, so we will keep our position. I don’t see the point in pushing any more.”

	Car 12. ARAÚJO/RAMALHO
“Very slippery.”

	Car 15. OGIER/INGRASSIA
“Once again it is the first loop. No problem with the car.”

	Car 31. KOSCUISZCO/SZCZEPANIAK
After his accident this morning, the mechanics spent a lot of time to fix the car and the crew also lost time on the road section making repairs to the car and they collected a road penalty.

	Car 38. GUERRA/ROZADA
“The car is going well. This is one of the most beautiful stages of the Rally Mexico. The people are great, the kind of roads is nice. This is real fun for the drivers.”

	Car 43. BLOCK/GELSOMINO
“Enjoying this stage. The grip was really inconsistent. Really enjoyable and a lot of people out there.”

	Car 52. TRIVINO/HARO
“Very good. I had a good feeling with the car.”
